Producer of Tribe: The Tale Of Han

Although experienced in producing many short films, when I heard about Tribe I was drawn to it, it was something different and unique and something I knew I just had to produce. I loved the story of a young man coming of age and battling with his head and his heart, knowing he has to do the right thing, whatever the cost and how pure and relatable that was, but also the Imaginative and extraordinary setting and characters in the film that just fuelled my creativity and passion to make this film. Tribe allows viewers escapism into this fantasy tribe, which I believe is the main reason that we love films, to get away from our reality and immerse into a world that the filmmakers have created in which anything is possible and I think Tribe allowed me to create this.

Having worked with Ayo previously on other short films, although this being the first time in which he had directed, I knew we had a great working relationship which had respect and trust to allow us to work well together and allow me to develop and push the film creatively with him. Tribe also helped me push myself and my skills and knowledge, not only in producing but also in filmmaking as a whole and was a very valuable and rewarding learning experience.

Even though we had to rein the story and ourselves back and work within the limitations of a tight budget, I am really proud of how the film has turned out and what we have achieved. I hope to use the film as a stepping-stone to develop the story on a much bigger scale as well as send Tribe: The Tale of Han to festivals and to watch it continue to grow.
